Discover The Geopark
Walking
The Geopark has an extensive network of high quality walking trails with rambling country lanes, winding forest tracks, breathtaking mountain walks or tranquil lakeshore paths all within easy reach. Interpretation panels are located at the beginning of most walks; providing a map of the route and indicating features of interest to look out for along the way. Each walking route is fully way marked – so you do not have to be a map reading expert to follow the route.
The walks vary in length from short leisurely strolls to more challenging hikes across open mountains and bog. All walks are graded from easy, through to moderate and difficult thus helping you to choose the route that is most appropriate to your level of ability. Some walking routes are suitable for wheelchair users.
These walks allow both locals and visitors alike to wander through the spectacular natural and built heritage resources that the Geopark has to offer, so what better way to explore the Geopark than on foot.
