Discover The Geopark
For an energetic day out the spectacular landscapes of the Geopark can be explored on two wheels along one of the many cycle routes contained within the Geopark. There are short routes ranging from 1 to 16 kilometres and for the more adventurous cyclists there are longer routes over 90 kilometres in length. For families or other cyclists who prefer a leisurely ride, there are choices such as the ‘Castle to Castle ’ cycle trail which takes the cyclist on a journey along the shores of the River Erne from Enniskillen Castle in the west of Enniskillen town to the National Trust’s Castle Coole estate in the east, or the circular Castle Archdale Family Cycle Route which weaves along the shoreline of Lower Lough Erne and through the peaceful Castle Archdale Forest and Country Park.
For the cycling enthusiast there are a number of long distance cycle routes to choose from, most notably the Kingfisher Cycle Trail, the North West Trail and the West Fermanagh Loop. These long distance cycle routes pass along some of the most spectacular scenery the Geopark has to offer and with a map and clearly waymarked routes – navigation is child’s play.
