NEW Geopark Education Resource for Teachers
We are delighted to launch the brand new Field Guide to the Geodiversity of the Marble Arch Caves UNESCO Global Geopark. This weather resistant guide has been developed to assist teachers in using the remarkable outdoor classroom that exists through the Geopark sites. The guides include detailed information, teacher and student sheets with the aim of equipping post-primary school teachers with the information and resources they need to deliver fieldwork within the Geopark. The guide aims to create accessible classrooms at six Geopark sites which have significant and diverse geology. The pack also includes information on how the geology at each site relates to the national curriculum.
There are a limited number of hard copies of the guide which will be distributed to each secondary school within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and Cavan County Council areas. The guides are also available here for teachers outside the Geopark or if additional copies are required.

These field guides have been developed with the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland with funding through the Drifting Apart project, which was funded though the Northern Peripheries and Arctic Area Programme under the European Regional Development Fund.
